Profesora

Page from Book 74: acrylic and oil on paper
su profesora
la primera maestra de su vida

her aunt was a pro
taught the secrets of amor
to anyone willing to pay

her aunt was a pro
taught men in pain
how to go to the pleasure zone
how to reach the big O-zone

her aunt was a pro
in 5 inch blue suede shoes
she twirled like a ballerina
did triple pirouettes on high
heels and a mini without
breaking a sweat

2 in the morning she was
picked up on the corner by five-O
locked down in county jail till 6
home to fix breakfast at 8
with the dough she earned
teaching her secret tricks

taught her niece to read by 3
had her in bed with a story by 7
what auntie did after 11
was considered adult language

her niece saw her charm, saw her soul
saw that she wasn't a piece of skin
a raw piece of meat
auntie did what she did
to keep her niece
to pay the bills
called her profesora
su profesora
la primera maestra de su vida

her aunt was a pro
spanked her niece's hand when
she tried on those 5 inch blue suede shoes
didn't want her to wear her shoes
didn't want her to walk her walk
didn't want her to strut down her road
didn't want her doing pirouettes
in high heels at 2 in the morning
