Deconstructing wedding dresses

When I am transforming wedding gowns into books, I am always curious about their histories.  Today, I worked on a wedding dress from 1940 and one from 1960.  

This is a picture of the wedding gowns on my work table.  Even though I altered their outward appearances, their fabric weave structures and textures remain the same.
